Obituary for Norman Charles "Skip" Conroy

Norman Charles Conroy “Skip”, 85, raised in Wood-Ridge, passed away at home on November 8, 2018. Mr. Conroy served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Skip was a Charter Member of the Wood-Ridge V.F.W. Post 3616 for 65 years and Quarter Master for over 60 years. For 43 years, he was a plumber with Local 24 of Newark and retired at the age of 61. Loving brother of Jane Preli and her husband John and the late James A. Conroy, Jr., John Peter Conroy and Barbara O’Connor. Beloved uncle of Jane and husband Robert, Denise and husband Paul, Kathleen, Eileen, Barbara and husband Tom, John and wife Susan, James and wife Diane and predeceased by Sharon. Also survived by many great nieces and great nephews. Devoted son of the late James A. Conroy, Sr. and Martha E. (nee Nelson) Conroy. Most importantly, he will be missed by his best friend, Rusty. A Funeral Service will be held at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visitation Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norman’s memory to Villa Marie Claire Hospice, HNMC Foundation, 718 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck, NJ 07666.
