Robert J. Brosen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away late last week in the Veterans’ hospital in East Orange, NJ, as a result of post-surgery complications. His wife, Catherine, children, Bryan, Jennifer, and Robert, and several other dear family members were at his bedside.
To send flowers in memory of Robert J Brosen, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
Bob, a NJ native, graduated Manville High School before joining the US Army and completing 2 tours of service during the Vietnam era as a pilot, mechanic, and recruiter. Following his honorable discharge in 1968, he married his love, Catherine Sweetman, in 1969 and settled in Toms River, where they raised three children.
A mechanical and engineering wiz, computer geek, and all-around handyman, Bob’s career ran the gamut from repairing arcade machines on the NJ boardwalk to transporting heavy freight, and from small business owner to fleet supervisor for a nationwide transportation company. But nothing was ever more important to him than family.
He is survived by his wife; children; son-in-law, Eric; daughter-in-law, Dalila; grandchildren, Jacob, Liam, Rowan, and Ricardo; and countless friends and extended family.
Memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Church, 91 Stillhouse Rd. Millstone Twp, NJ 08510 on Friday, May 3rd, at 12:00 pm. A Wake will be held at the Brosen residence, 2 Stone Tavern Dr, Millstone, NJ 08510 following the service until 7 pm.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (www.bcan.org).
