John was a dance genius who gave generously of his teaching talent to his students. I first met him over 20 years ago when I joined his Center Stage Dancers, and later incorporated as The Best Foot Forward Dance Troupe. I was a complete beginner, but Johnny encouraged me with his great teaching and infinite patience. When I finally got the triple time-step after months of trying, he asked me to demonstrate it for the class. What an honor! I learned so much from John -- more than just tap steps. I learned the value of showmanship and entertaining others and the power of friendship. John is a friend I will carry in my heart always. Peace be with you, Charlie Nunzio
