I was very sorry to hear about uncle John passing. I thought of him often. He was very influential in my life during my 20's when I worked with him at Thumann's. I recall the first time I ever met John. It was in September 1955. I rushed home from St. Michael's school in Flushing, NY, where we lived, to watch the Dodgers play The Yankees in the World Series on TV. I got home and this guy was laying on our couch already watching the game! It was uncle John! He was staying with us for a few days. He was a Dodger fan, as was I, and that was my introduction to a great guy!. Reading the obituary, I realized his birthday is the same as my wife, Linda. He will be forever missed.

I will always remember Mr Cooney and the how I felt in his presence. His smile, joy, were contagious. His love of his family was palpable. I will always have such fond memories of this special man, the smiles he brought to my face and how he warmed my heart. Prayers and love to the Cooney family.
