Nicholas Manzo, 84, of Carlstadt died peacefully at home with family on May 20, 2021. He was born in Jersey City on March 4, 1937 to Margaret Gaeta and Nicholas Manzo. Attended St. Paul of the Cross in Jersey City where he served as an altar boy, then moved to Carlstadt attending Lindbergh School and East Rutherford High School. He was active in Carlstadt Boy Scouts, Little League and Football.

He joined the Navy and proudly served for 5 years as an aircraft carrier electrician. After service, he married his sweetheart since the 5th grade Judy Battiston. They had 6 children, Nicky Jr., Judy, Billy, John, Christine, and Nancy.
After 40 years, he retired as a Yellow Freight truck driver in Carlstadt. He was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford. He enjoyed being a member in the Carlstadt Historical Society and Senior Friendship Club. Some of his favorite past times were always being there for his grandkids no matter what, watering his lawn, gardening, telling jokes, going to the casino and traveling.
Predeceased by his son, Nicky Jr., his parents, stepdad Bill Bradford, his brothers Ralph Manzo and Curtis Bradford.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, his children Judy (Tony Bellina), Billy, John (Ronene Naldi), Christine (Curtis Pandorf) and Nancy (Bobby Sulikowski). He will be dearly missed by his beloved grandkids, Anthony and Danny Bellina, Josh and David Manzo, Tyler Manzo, step-grandson Christian and Nicole Sulikowski, his little princess. His sisters Carolyn McAllister and Marion Gambo and many nieces and nephews.
He will forever be remembered by his caring heart, kindness, positive outlook in life, his smile, laughs and sense of humor. His heart truly was filled with love for his entire family, always willing to lend a helping hand to all.
Funeral departing from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 9:30 AM for a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, East Rutherford at 10:00 AM. Cremation will be private. Visitation Sunday 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry in East Rutherford.
