Obituary for Dreyna Blanche Hinrichs (Hendrickson)

Dreyna B. Hinrichs, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 14, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Woodcliff Lake surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 23, 1929 in New York City. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Edwin J. Hinrichs, her two brothers Robert Hendrickson and Clifford Hendrickson and in-laws Rudolph and Sue Hinrichs. She is survived by her three loving children, her son E. Keith Hinrichs and his wife Jacqueline of Ridgewood, her son Timothy J. Hinrichs of Edgewater and her daughter Dreyna L. Okimatsu and her husband Toshio of Woodcliff Lake. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kathryn Rome and her husband Michael, David Hinrichs and his wife Cheryl, Sarah Galdieri and her husband Michael and Adam Okimatsu and his fiancé Ashley Glazer. Dreyna lived to see the births of five great-grandchildren, Emma, Chloe, Eleanor and Camryn Rome, and Chase Hinrichs. She was happily anticipating the birth of her sixth great grandchild baby Galdieri. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Yvette Hendrickson and many loving nieces and nephews. Dreyna was proud to be raised in Greenwich Village, New York and was a resident of Carlstadt for sixty years. She worked as church secretary at the First Presbyterian Church in Carlstadt, where she was a member for sixty years. She also served as president of the Ladies Aid Society. She later became an office manager at Real Estate Data in Hackensack and finally a legal secretary for Godlesky and Swylock in Hackensack before retiring at the age of seventy. Dreyna enjoyed knitting baby clothes, reading and going to movies in her spare time, but she was her happiest when preparing Sunday dinners for her family. She lived for holidays and celebrations of any kind with her family and was always eager to stop for a cup of coffee at the drop of a hat. She will be forever loved, missed and remembered by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held in the Carlstadt First Presbyterian Church, 457 Division Ave., on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation will be at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt on Thursday 4-8 PM.
